Thanks.. I just rename $HOME/garnome to /$HOME/garnome-old ,and I am installing the new version..

If you mean $HOME/garnome then yes. Jsut remove all of the old stuff
related to garnome. All your settings are stored elsewhere.

No, no updates. Remove your GARNOME build and install directories, and
install fresh.
