RH 7.3 and AA fonts

Still can't get AA fonts working.

Yes, I've set GDK_USE_XFT, yep, I've got RENDER. Yes, I've edited my XftConfig,
and have even taken out ALL references that might set antialias=false.

I just can't seem to get AA fonts working! I've searched the archives, asked
in #garnome, google'd, followed other's xft-aa howtos. No luck.

The most recent help I've gotten, from a random person on the 'net, was trying
to strace gnome-terminal, and grep for xft. This showed no matches, so the
person suggested that I don't have libpangoxft or libXft set up correctly
in Garnome. Was there something in the compile/configuration that I needed to
set, or some library garnome isn't finding at compile time? Or am I completely
on the wrong track.

Everyone I've spoken to with RH 7.3 has had the same problem :/
