Ok, so it doesn't make a difference for the end result, just for the building 
process. My laptop only has 128 Mb ram so I think  i'll leave '-j' out...

Ok. I've used 3.0, but downloaded 3.1 (but couldn't build it yesterday because 
of lack of disk space) but I guess I'll get rid of 3.0 and install and use 3.1 
then... :-)

I thought debugging was off by default, isn't it? (i'm not at home so i can't 
check now...)

I don't know, the slowness might have to do with my migration to X 4.2.0 as 
well... (and now, my usb mouse mysteriously ceased working in X as well.. :-/ )
