OK Problem solved.
I took python2.1-xml and expat from packages.debian.org
libglade-convert was successfully built (gdm needs this)
But unfortuanately still cannot launch gnome-session :(
"The Settings Daemon restarted too many times. Failed to activate AAFIID
: Gnome_SettingsDaemon"

Sorry forget to tell you that Python already has these modules :
help> modules expat

PyXML-0.5.5.1
But building of libglade-convert still fails
checking for Python >= 2.0 with expat support... not found.

A usable version of python was not found, so the
libglade-convert program was not installed. This
script requires Python >= 2.0 with expat support.
Some packages require libglade-convert to build
correctly. If you wish to build one of these
packages, you must install expat and python,
and then rebuild libglade.
