[gamin] Monitoring too many files

Using gamin-0.0.14-1 from Rawhide Fedora Core.

If I try to monitor more then 546 files in one process I don't get events back.
gamin doesn't eat CPU too much, but select on FAM descriptor never returns.
In FAM's FAQ I found that there is a limit on number of files monitored by 1
process. But it says that the limit is 1024 files.

Now the question is this a bug or a known gamin limitation?
