EXIF date/time issue

Not sure if this is a bug with libexif or f-spot but has anyone noticed that the time in the date/time field is always forwarded by 5 hours? I used jhead to set a date (today's date) and time to 00:00:00 on a pcture. I then imported it to f-spot 0.0.6 and it reads the time as 05:00 AM. Any of my other times in my pictures are forwarded by 5 hrs. Has anybody else experienced this? Should I file this as a bug in f-spot or libexif?
BTW, this is an excellent application. Kudos to all the developers. I hope I can contribute by using it and posting my feedback on any issues. Thanks!
I'm runing f-spot 0.0.6 in Ubuntu 4.10 Warthog.
