To me, the biggest plus of a search folder is that it ends the tyranny
of hierarchy. (folder organization has its place but most of my regular
searches cut across folders). Without search folders, one would end up
matching regular searches to folders and having copies for mails that
fit multiple criteria.
  Isn't that the point of search folders ?(which was IMO better conveyed
by the name v(irtual)folders than the new 'user-friendly' name).

I do not feel search folders should have a tree structure either. I
would not find it intuitive to use it that way, even if I can.

Carsten, your patch still fails to rename the 'New Folder' item on the
right-click menu. ' New Search Folder' would be more appropriate.
