Beagle allows indexing of maildir messages.  When such messages are
shown up in Best, the "open" action on those tiles invokes KMail as the

Yes, I agree. A basic check should be done in imple_handleURI in
e-shell.c and depending upon the mime-type it should be passed on to the
individual components.

Let me try this or suggest me a better way.
