Right. And I sent a revised patch immediately. So what? It should have
been pretty obvious from the comments, that I didn't have CVS access and
someone who cares should commit this...

It was. Well, one part of it. But that's not the point here.

The point is, the patch was sent a couple of weeks even before I
requested CVS access. This patch should have been committed weeks ago.
It wasn't though, despite me poking more than once.

Well, obviously I was faster. :-)

Anyway, that's exactly the sad truth. The patch was committed short
before it got obsoleted, rather than at the time it was done.
