This actually causes a pretty nasty problem - it overrides libc's
vsnprintf, and worse, it doesn't actually work.  At least on amd64 it
causes instant crashes.  So I guess someone has to check this
implementation of vsnprintf actually does work.

I guess considering it's a revert, i think it should go in asap.
