Are you sure? AFAIK the gettext scanner handles _(variable) appropriately, i.e. by ignoring it. All the mailer code just uses that.

I think the correct way to do this is using gettext(), not _(), since
the latter is also supposed to mark for translation. With that change,
it's approved.
