This was never a problem in 1.4.x was it?  I'm wondering if the bug
was/is actually caused by the event editor.  FWIW I couldn't replicate
the last comment in the bug.   Won't the alarm daemon say "no
description available" if there is no description and no summary anyhow?
I suppose that won't be saved on the component though.
