I have no problem signing the copyright assignment and I will do it
ASAP.
It looks a bit like overkill since these are just a couple of really
simple patches and I don't have the time/skills to become a regular
contributor, but I understand it's a general policy.

I'll send the updated patch with your suggestions once this copyright
stuff is done.
