Sigh, so there's another patch for this.  I hate having to choose one over the other.

Most of the other points in the last few mails to the patches list apply to this one too, about window text/buttons, the branch, etc.

in addition:
+mc_set_default_mailer(GConfClient *gconf)

no need for this to be a separate function, just put it inline.

i'm also not sure we really need a gui to configure this.  we don't have it for all of the other prompts, only for a few specific and important ones.

Thanks for all of your comments... here is my updated patch which looks a lot better and is actually a bit shorter.

I fixed all of the things that Jeffrey commented on... see how you like it now, send more comments, and maybe someday soon this issue will be completely fixed...
