Difficult patch to give a proper review, obviously.  I've spent a few
hours reviewing the patch and think it looks good.  I think we should
get this and the evo patch applied and get it out in snaps quickly so it
gets beaten on.

Also, it might help to get some directed testing going by identifying
the specific components/views that are impacted.
