And GtkEntry. (Try tabbing around the entries in the account editor.
It's easy to get to a state where the cursor is blinking in one entry
with text selected in another.) I filed a bug about this
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108202)

So the gtk-consistent behavior is probably to not apply this patch.
