this was a problem in libbonobo, on big endian architectures. It was
fixed by Dan Winship the other day, so I guess the best thing is to not
have it fixed at all in Evolution, since the problem is in libbonobo.

So, I suppose we'd better not apply your patch and maybe require the
newest libbonobo release for the next evo release.
