Hi York,
Thanks for your mail.
Just to comment on your question below about the label: as far as I
can tell, the most commonly used phrase to refer to this feature is
"Caret Mode".
(This assumption is based on doing a suite of google searches, using
each of our proposed strings as queries; I get far more matches for
"Caret Mode" than anything else. "Caret Mode" does seem to be used by a
variety of apps, on a variety of platforms, which is more than I can
say for our other proposed labels. :)
So my recommendation to you for now (we can change the label after all,
if it turns out that people absolutely don't understand it ) is to use
"Caret Mode" as the label of the menu item. The benefit of this is that
people who need to use this mode in order to navigate are likely
already accustomed to this label.
To make the label more friendly, we should add a tooltip for it (which
will appear in the area at the bottom left of the Evolution shell where
the other tooltips currently appear) . The tooltip should be "Show a
blinking cursor in the body of displayed messages" (or something like
that.)
Does that seem sensible to you?
Thanks,
Anna

And to find a name for the menu entry is really a headache. Anna, if
you
do not agree with the name "Show blinking cursor", could you give me a
suggestion?
