For linking with gcc, you do something like

-Wl,-R/usr/lib64/evolution/2.0

Thank you this fixed my problem. However I am now getting a segfault here...

msg = camel_mime_message_new();

If this requires GDB ouput to diagnose just let me know what commands to run.
