[Evolution-hackers] configure cannot find bonobo while building evolution

Hi,
I am trying to build Evolution on my Red Hat 9. The configure script gives me
this error

I went to README and it says

- bonobo - 1.0.3 or later
*** Note that bonobo must be installed with the same --prefix as
*** either gnome-libs or evolution for the Makefiles to work
*** properly.

I used rpm to see the files that belong to bonobo and gnome-libs ..I have
Bonobo installed as you can see below (I paste only the relevant part of the
output .. Both gnome-libs and bonobo are under /usr/lib..

searched the web but couldn't find anything useful.. Any help counts
