"watch file" in evince

I was wondering if evince allows one to watch (i.e., automatically update)
a changing postscript file.  This option is available in gv and is very useful
in writing papers.  Evince seems to be crashing/misbehaving 
when a file open by evince is changing.  Are there any known fixes?
