Maybe you should try it again, it works quite nicely in Epiphany 2.14 IMO :-)

Of course there's always room for improvement, but are you using the
latest release Liam? If so, are you referring to the bookmarks menu or the
bookmarks editor? We're open to suggestions about ways to improve the
browser. Please don't hesitate to file bugs!
