Why does "epiphany" not print Truetype fonts?

The "epiphany" browser dropped the "mozilla" printing back-end
at version 1.7.3. Using "gnome-print" now, one would expect that
Truetype fonts that are rendered correctly on-screen are printed
accordingly. Other "GNOME" applications such as "abiword" do
this marvelously. Can anbody elucidate me why this is not the
case with "epiphany" and how to achieve this if its possible
from the technical point of view? Many thanks in advance.
