Asking a Slack user about rpm (the db question anyway) is liken to questioning
a wine drinker about beer =p

Querying installed packages is as simple as "ls /var/log/packages" and of
course grep can help you narrow things down a bit. Each package file in
/var/log/packages contains a list of files contained in the slack pack as well
(this is what pkgtool reads from when you select the "view" option in the
pkgtool menu).

Can't provide any info for you on the rpm db question but I'm sure you can work
something out....
