Creative Commons integration

Hi you all! I'm new to this list.

I'm planning to write a patch for Bug #349222 [1] . It will consist on
adding a new field to the image information page called "license".
This new field will show the name of CC license and a link to the
license deed web in case the current file has a CC license or "None"
otherwise.

My first patch will only support SVG images and if you like it, I will
add EXIF metadata license support [2].

What do you think about it? Does it fit into EOG's scope? I'm asking
you this questions because recently I wrote a patch for an application
without asking first and then my patch was rejected because it didn't
fit into the program.
