[Ekiga-list] ekiga sound problems

Hello,

We are trying to communicate Ekigas. We have some audio (not video)
problems, and we are testing everything in LAN (so, we have high speed,
no firewall, no ports problem, no STUN/NAT related, no congestion, etc.)

We use Ekiga from Debian (any problem?). If we use ALSA controller, the
sound is _very_ bad. We can hardly understand eachother with ALSA
controllers. The voice is "cut", if we "sing" something like
"hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" the i is not a sound, is
"splitted". Doesn't matter which codec we use. Using test audio, the sound
quality is little better but not perfect.

Using OSS drivers, we understand fine! yes, amazing! But in some seconds
(30 sec, 1 min) then we have rare noises, and invalid frames on console
(sorry, I don't have the exact error here, but I think that is more
related with video, not sure).

Using audacity I don't have any problem recording the voice.

Usually, when I record voice (in Ekiga test too) I can hear myself at
same time (and then after 4 or 5 seconds, and then again and again,
output is inputted again).

Maybe is something related with libpt-plugins-alsa, using 1.10.1.dfsg-1
version (from Debian). But anyway, some help is apprecied. I am little
disappointed that two Ekigas, same LAN, are not working fine without any
effort.

Now I have tried to connect Ekiga with all Ekiga packages from ekiga.org
webpage for Debian to Windows Ekiga. Sound is not working fine. From
Druid test either.

I can see that twinkle program has lot of Sound cards/alsa related
things, not Ekiga. I will test little later. Linphone, Wengophone and
gizmo works fine.

Any tip that we have to know to configure it?

Thanks!
