Re: [Ekiga-list] Thank you for ekiga - need some help to, > configure custom sip

I have read most of the FAQ, but it mostly only explains how to set up things with ekiga sip abbo. But i use a custom one.

Ekiga detects that i have a Port Restricted NAT and that i don't have to configure anything.

Please help? Any Headsets advice?

I have ekiga working now with my custom sip

Instead of sip.tweakphone.nl i had to use a direct IP address 82.197.223.42 .

But I have a lot of buggy behaviour with Ekiga and Xubuntu.

If I start calling someone and press the Hang Up function. It keeps dialling until a time-out occurs it is really annoying.

If the purson on the other side of the line hangs up ekiga also hangs until a time out.

Were is the cancel or undo button for if you pressed the wrong number when you want to make a call?

So it does not detect hang ups on both sides!

I need a good headset with USB or and bluethooth connection for Linux, I don't have a microphone my audio chip isn't yet fully supported under Linux VIA epia EN12000E, what can you recommend? I can get logitech headsets but i need to know what i can buy.

Hello,

Le jeudi 26 octobre 2006 ? 16:30 +0200, Jelle de Jong a ?crit :
Hello,

I want to use ekiga as a softphone for sip calls in and out.
I have bought a VoIP account vor sip. I have these information:

I use xubuntu as OS

logincode: useruser
password: blablabla
sip-proxy = sip-domein = sip.tweakphone.nl

So I add a account and tried it.

I can call to my mobile phone but it does not display a call number.
It doesn't depend on Ekiga. It is your provider that controls that.

I cant recieve any calls.

Are you behind a NAT router? Can you be more descriptive?

What are the steps for configuring a sip account?
iptabels, nat settins, forwarding, proxy servers.

See the FAQ on http://ekiga.org, everything should be explained there.

Hi,

I have recently become very frustrated trying to get Ekiga video
conferencing to work with family that only use windows. I have tried to
use Ekiga (in linux) with Windows Messenger, X-ten and Ekiga for windows
- in all cases, I ran into problems or could get sound but no video.
What struck me was the lack of adequate documentation of exactly how to
get things working. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place, but it
seems that there is relatively little detailed documentation out there.

It seems to me that there needs to be an Ekiga Wiki where people can put
their experiences online. A table that says what aspects of what
programs work with ekiga linked to instructions on how to setup both
sides of the connection would be very useful. Another useful topic
would be instructions on how to test both ends of the line. Some hints
of this are in the FAQ, but it wasn't sufficient for me.
If there is anyway I can help setting something like this up, I would be
willing to try. I have experience setting up MediaWiki, but wouldn't
consider myself an expert.

Cheers,
David
