You have to enable MIC Input and click on "MUTE", it will remove the
signal feedback into the speakers.

Not weird, but normal. Use a headset.

First fix things with the druid audio test. It is the first step. If
your audio is not setup correctly there is no hope that it will work.

Because you are not registered (same problem again).

The squeeling noise and the tick are not normal.

It seems an hardware related problem.

The 2 arecord/aplay command must repeat your voice input into the
microphone without any perturbation. Once it will work correctly, then
Ekiga will also work correctly.

I guess you have to tweak your ALSA setup.
