I'm quite out-of-time in these days, but I'll perform the following,
stopping as soon as I encounter an error:
1) confirm that ekiga-snapshot doesn't crash on both etch- and
sid-i386 (the latter has been already reported by Julien [1])
2) check if ekiga-snapshot crashes on a etch-amd64
3) check if ekiga-snapshot crashes on a real (i.e. not in a chroot)
sid-amd64

I'll do, in parallel with the tests above.
Stay tuned :-D
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
