Since the stable and head branches have diverged, I've only been 
applying patches to stable.  At this point I'm not sure whether to 
continue development on head, or re-sync it with stable.  I'm not 
planning on any release off of head any time soon, I'd prefer to get a 
new stable release out and then go from there.
