Hi all,
So, we're having a lots of release and it's easy to get lost between
all of them. Where are we now? Let's look at it:
+ Pants: off, since the first time we met Jeff
+ New features: err, you're kidding, right? Or maybe branching?
+ Sockets: is it worrying to think about network protocols?
+ UI fixes: wow, you're late. But the release team might help you.
+ Hat: some people have a red one. I prefer the blue one.
+ String fixes: still a few days left, go go go!
+ T-shirt: it seems you can buy one thanks to GNOME Hispano
+ Bug fixes: still a few weeks left. You don't want your module to be
so visible in bugzilla, do you?
+ Love: we're the love!
Now, some of you might be wondering what's this list of non-sense items.
Isn't it pretty clear? We're nearing the end of the 2.14 release cycle,
with our second beta which will be out next week! A good love gift for
the Valentine's Day. Isn't it romantic? (No, you don't have to send me
an answer to this question ;-))
Tarballs are due on Monday (February 13th) for the GNOME 2.14.0 Beta 2
(2.13.91) Development Release, which will be delivered on Wednesday. If
for some reason you are not able to make a tarball before Monday,
please send a mail to the release team: we can find someone to roll
the tarball for you!
With this release, we enter the string freeze: this means that no
string changes may be made without approval from the translators,
and notification to both the release-team and the GDP.
Please note that we now use a hard deadline for tarballs: tarballs
uploaded after Monday 23:59 UTC will not be included in 2.13.91. Ask
around you: it already happened to some modules, so we're *really*
not including late releases!
For more informations about 2.13, the full schedule, the official
module lists and the proposed module lists, please see our shiny 2.13
page on the wiki:

To help write good release notes, please add major user-visible changes
happening during the 2.13 release cycle to this wiki page:

Thanks,
Vincent
