Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the GNOME development branch is BACK
IN ACTION! This is our first of our 2.9 development series releases, working
towards GNOME 2.10 in March 2005. There are a number of new features present
in this release... So tumble into your testing trousers, pull on your patch
writing pants, and once more into our bug busting breeches dear friends...

                        HACKING TIME IS HERE AGAIN!

This release is a snapshot of development code. Although it is buildable and
usable, it is primarily intended for testing and hacking purposes. Like the
good old days of Linux kernel development, GNOME uses odd minor version
numbers to indicate development status. Please check the 2.9 start page for
more information:

Happy testing!
