On the same page is talked about text in icons when it comes to program
names, text in native language, etc. Having a small "jpg" overlay on a
MIME-icon for JPEG files doesn't look bad while reading this section of
the HIG.
And also scaling issues for including "extraneous information".
And if you ask me, "jpg", "png" or "tiff" does not translate well to
UserSpeak ;)
