The screenshot shows the Desktop menu with the icon for the user's
desktop.  When the name for the desktop menu was chosen, developers
worried that using the word desktop for both concepts would lead to user
confusion.  The bugzilla poster [1] who proposed using that icon had
assumed that the menu would contain the contents of the user's desktop.
If gnome ships with that icon, users will make the same assumption.
This should probably be fixed before the docs people start fixing the
screenshots.
