request for freeze breakage 2/2

Hi,

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51152 was applied several
months ago, and moves gnome-CD over to a cdparanoia-based GStreamer
pipeline. Anyway, the backend seems to have issues, some of which are
related to alsa and some of which are related to bugs in gconf pipeline
parsing and checking. I've asked for permission several days ago to
break the freeze already, related to another crasher in the code.

Thomas (who maintains gnome-media with me) has proposed to revert the
patch for now. I've pondered over it for a while and agree that this is
the most realistic option. Gnome CD has always worked well and the
current patch has - in our opinion - introduced unacceptable regressions
that we can not fix for 2.8.0. This is partly out own fault, the patch
was only introduced in a gnome-media release at -rc1 (2.7.92; far too
late).

Can I have permission to revert the patch in #51152? The bug will be
reopened and worked on after 2.8.0 has been released. The patch itself
isn't at fault, it just isn't perfect enough yet.
