I worked on the GNOME SendTo bounty too. And for that, I need to be able
to tell Gaim to send a file to a certain person. There was no uniform
file transfer API within Gaim at the time (I don't know whether that's
still the case today), so I depend on Gaim DnD File Transfer bounty.
That bug is well over a year old now. As you can see in Bugzilla, I've
tried to bring it back alive, with no luck. It's totally ignored,
without any further feedback.
