I'm sure it would be possible to write a gconf backend that (a) called
getgroups() to get a list of the groups a user is a member of, (b)
created GConfSources for corresponding gconf databases found in some
directory and (c) proxied all the GConfSource method calls to the other
sources. Shouldn't be too difficult to implement.
