This ball has rolled, knocked down pins, and hit the wall.

The capplet and applet portions of this have landed in cvs and been
released already.  There will be some ui tweaks and a bit of backend
work to integrate gkb and gswitchit for users that use different x
servers regularly.  However, Sergey has done the majority of the
work already.
