The problem with solving this are both on a technical and human level.
Many developers simply aren't aware of the problems the unnecessary
markup creates for translators, and on the technical side of things,
with Glade (which many GNOME applications use) there's no easy way to
avoid including markup in messages.

I suggest you try to file bugs in bugzilla for these messages, but try
to separate between non-Glade and Glade messages (messages that come
from a .glade[.h] file), since application developer's can't really
properly fix the problem in Glade messages for now, afaik.
