Well, yes, Hide Applications is probably a more accurate description of the 
button. But what I was driving at was the broader understanding of the term 
"desktop" which has been a thorn in our escritorial sides since the days when 
GNOME was just a gargoyle on a medieval cathedral. For a brief, wonderful 
moment, I thought we had glimpsed an inner truth. A secret of the universe. The 
One True Meaning of the Term Desktop. And perhaps we have.
