How do you uninstall a gconf schema file?

How do you properly uninstall a schema file? I just noticed that when I
uninstalled totem it still leaves its keys in gconf. I think I can just
delete them from /etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults but their should be an
easier way. For installing them theirs --makefile-install-rule, so why
isn't their a --makefile-uninstall-rule?
