"gcc" ?  I hope you mean gnome-control-center... ~,^

Seeing as how are going to be quite a few popular GTK1 apps remaining
for a while (notably Evolution, and GNUCash), would a "Legacy Widget
Theme" in the theme capplet be a good idea?

Also, for things like proxy-settings and such, having the current
control-center be able to modify gnome1.4-style settings may be an idea;
perhaps have an --enable-legacy-settings support for the core
capplets... ?

There are just too many popular GTK1/gnome1 apps that aren't going to be
ported anytime soon...
