I think the most likely reason for this is that the rep-gtk configure
check in sawfish found the wrong (gtk1) version of rep-gtk

that is wrong, there is no gui.gtk-2.gdk-pixbuf, it's part of
gui.gtk-2.gtk, but that won't help, since there is definitely no
gui.gtk-2.gnome-canvas!

but it should actually be compiling the gtk/workspace-geometry.jl file,
which doesn't reference these libraries

so I think you should work out why sawfish is trying to compile support
for rep-gtk's gnome widgets,
