A note WRT the 'current freeze requirements':
There are still a large number of bugs that require string changes; I
see 'can't check this in because of the string freeze' too frequently in
bugzilla. Because of that large number of string-related bugs that
really just have to be fixed before we ship, the release team has
decided to lift the string freeze until a week before RC1. It was our
mistake to schedule it as early as we did, and we're collectively
wearing the dunce cap while people go around actually fixing the many
string bugs that were discovered only after the freeze. Sorry for the
confusion that the premature freeze may have caused.
