Re: make distcheck problems

hello!

I was just about to release a preview of GGV port to GNOME 2, but I ran
into a problem where I am at a complete loss:

make distcheck generates the tarball but when it tries to compile it, I
get the following error:

make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jaka/cvs-gnome/ggv/ggv-1.99.0/=build'

the POTFILES.in in /home/jaka/cvs-gnome/ggv/ggv-1.99.0/=build/po is
empty, while POTFILES.in in ggv-1.99.0 directory is OK.

can someone help me? you can observe this with the ggv from CVS HEAD.

The AC_PACKAGE_NAME macro is from autoconf 2.5x. Maybe intltool requires it these days? Maybe if you upgrade to autoconf-2.52, the problem will go away. I recommend everyone "make dist" with newer autoconfs where possible, as they will get rid of certain classes of bug reports (such as changing something and getting bitten by cached configure checks). It also makes configure scripts easier to debug.

James.
