As for why detachable menus are not supported: HCI guys from Sun told that
it's too confusing for novice user..
As for me - I don't understand why there is no GUI settings to control menu
detaching (there was one in gnome-1.x) - why one has to resort to gconf-editor
to change this setting..
So the one of the unique Gnome features is lost..
