eog troubles

For some reason, EOG doesn't love me.  It compiles and installs just
fine.  For RPM building, I set "export
GCONF_DISABLE_MAKEFILE_SCHEMA_INSTALL=1" before running make install,
and then unset it afterwords.  When I do this for other packages, the
.schemas file gets installed in /etc/gconf/schemas, so that I can run
gconftool to install it in the script.  For some reason, EOG doesn't
