[Deja-dup-hackers] Fwd: Report for June 6 - June 20, reply to Michael Terry

From a friend of mine (Matej Kovacic):

As I understand his idea, he suggests that we would also show files that were in subdirectories and if user checks subdirectory, all files from that subdirectory are restored.

I can see usefulness of this but I can also see problems. If user requests deleted files for a directory such as Documents he will most likely receive a long list of files in various subdirectories even though he might not even be interested in them. Possible solution could be that we list all subdirectories in their non-expanded mode and user then expands those subdirectories if he wishes.

Revert would be done with a double click on the file (no confirmation screen as is currently implemented in my case). If we show location to which we are restoring to below or above our file list, this could possibly be accomplished, although I have a bit of fear that this could make interface a bit "full". Personally I have to think about this and maybe draw a wireframe or two to be sure if I want this.

Regards,
Urban

Zivjo,

lp, Matej
