My apologies, I didn't do a very good job with context on this one.

I am running Ubuntu Dapper which means evolution 2.6, and some small
compatibility issues with the eds backend. I was not looking for a
real solution as much as I just wanted the daemon to keep running. I
just submitted the patch since it was my quick fix.
