I'm pleased to announce the release of Beagle 0.0.2.
The changes since version 0.0.1 are mostly architectural. There is now
a beagle daemon that handles indexing and searching. Clients
communicate with this daemon via D-BUS.
Beagle now depends on the CVS version of D-BUS and the associated Mono
bindings. (For more information about D-BUS, visit
http://www.freedesktop.org/Software/dbus.)
Beagle is a tool for indexing and searching your data. It is in a very
early stage of development and should be considered highly
experimental.
Dashboard now uses Beagle for all of its indexing. We expect to use
Beagle to power a number of search-related applications.
To download the Beagle 0.0.2 tarball, visit the Beagle web site at
http://www.gnome.org/projects/beagle.
